Flipper

A term used to describe a disc that must be turned (flipped) during the film as the data is stored across both sides. Instead of the drive reading the other side, the user must turn it over manually, unless they have a dual-layer unit. A disc with one version of the film on one side and another on the other is not regarded as a flipper.
